Christ Lutheran Church worships every Sunday morning at 10 o’clock, upstairs in our sanctuary (also called a “nave”). No matter what door you enter, just follow the stairs up and you’ll find it!
We enjoy our beautiful, historic sanctuary. Our simple stained glass windows allow lots of light to shine in and illuminate everything, from the painting of the ascending Christ over the altar to the glorious pipe organ in the choir loft.
Our worship services follow the traditional Lutheran order of service, with lots of liturgy (spoken and sung lines, repeated week after week) and hymns (different ones each week). We always hear a Scripture-centered sermon and receive the sacrament of Holy Communion. On special occasions, we baptize babies, kids, or adults (any age, as long as you haven’t been baptized before!) in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
If you’re new to church, or new to Lutheran church, not to worry! Everything that’s said and sung is printed clearly in the bulletin (a booklet that you’ll be given when you walk in) — and there are plenty of friendly people who can help you find your way through the service.
Interested, but not quite sure about God, or church? Reach out to Pastor Wilson by phone (854-5589) or email (pastor at christlutheranyork dot com).
Or, just come and give it a try. It’s really hard to explain church (or God, or faith) from the outside. Better to experience it for yourself!
