Katie Schriver

Director, Christian Education, Youth and Family Ministry

Katie Schriver has been hired as the Director of Christian Education, Youth, and Family Ministry at Christ Lutheran Church in York, PA.

Miss Schriver, a resident of York, attended Central York schools. She is a 2011 graduate of Central York High School. In 2016, Katie graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Studio Arts.  She was a cross-country team runner for ten years.

Upon completing her university studies, Katie began her professional career as a teacher of young children in the Central Pennsylvania area. Through elementary school, high school and college Katie attended church at St. Joes and Living Word. She was involved in youth group, campus ministry and a young adult ministry program. Through these groups she has spent time at Christian retreats, volunteering in the community, teaching Sunday school and counseling summer camp at Camp YOLIJWA.  In her free time, you can most likely find her hanging out with her friends, family or her awesome dog Pookie.

She is a lover of the outdoors, shopping, road trips, animals and the arts. As you get to know Katie you may see her wondering around downtown at local establishments like Rock Fish, Central Market and other small business shops like Sunrise Soap Company.

Katie fell in love with education and teaching at a young age. She was always playing school with her baby dolls. When Katie started to become more active at church and in the community, she also fell in love with ministry and teaching youth about the word of the Lord. When Katie saw the opportunity to merge both her passion for education and ministry, she knew she had to take it. So, Katie made the decision to leave teaching and begin this new and exciting adventure with Christ Lutheran Church. Katie is beyond excited to meet everyone and begin working with the youth of the church. You can look forward to youth group, fellowship activities, opportunities to volunteer, family activities, and of course Sunday School and VBS.  Katie can’t wait to meet you and begin this new adventure with everyone.

Theme: Welcome to Changemakers Lab, an interactive Vacation Bible School where children learn that everyone can make a difference in the world! The five Bible stories in this curriculum explore examples of people who experienced and brought about change in the world around them. These people provide a model for asking hard questions, working together to solve problems, reaching across differences, caring for all people, and imagining a new world.
