The Church Council highly recommends that all those attending worship services wear their masks, even if they are vaccinated. Following recent guidelines from Bishop Dunlop—especially in light of the Delta variant—we ask that all congregants who wish to take part in communal singing wear their masks. We also will continue to maintain social distancing between pews and the distribution of Holy Communion will remain the same as we’ve been practicing it.

Dear Members and Friends of Christ Lutheran Church:
As you probably know, due to the recent rise of Covid-19 cases in Pennsylvania, Governor Wolf has moved the Commonwealth from the “Green Phase” back to the “Yellow Phase.” Among other things, that means that groups of more than 25 people in gatherings indoors will again be prohibited. Although houses of worship are technically exempt from this rule, in an abundance of caution in order to safeguard the health of everyone, we will again suspend our “in-person” Sunday service. However, our current plan is to broadcast live—on Facebook and our website—an abbreviated service including scriptural readings, selected music, a message, and prayers. The abbreviated service that has previously been sent by post mail will continue uninterrupted. The church office will continue to update you regarding a return to our “in-person” worship.
Peace and safety,
Pastor Alan Watt

Dear Church Members and Friends:
Following federal and state guidance, Christ Lutheran will continue to be closed through the month of April. Video sermons will continue to be released for Good Friday and Easter Sunday and weekly sermons will be released on following Sundays. Thank you to all for helping Christ Lutheran blunt the spread of the virus. Please see the links below with further information from public health authorities.
Peace,

Dear Church Members and Friends:
This important message is announcing the extension our cancellations of Sunday worship services. At this time, we will not be holding worship at least through Easter Sunday, April 12th. Obviously, that means we will not conduct a Palm/Passion Sunday service or, for that matter, any others during Holy Week—Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, or the Easter Vigil. Cancelling these services that mark the highlight of the liturgical calendar/church year is, to say the least, extremely disappointing. But circumstances dictate that everyone does whatever he/she can to blunt the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
After Easter, the Church Council will review the status of the pandemic. If at that time state and national leaders determine that the worst of the danger has passed and that the general population may resume regular activities, we could consider possibly holding services later in April (and maybe some other regular activities as well). However, the likelier scenario will be to continue not holding worship for still several more weeks.
In any event, please remain updated by reading future church emails, the website, and/or the Facebook page.
Last, please be aware that congregational costs continue whether we are “open for business” or not. Bills for utility usage, ongoing contracts, and any essential repairs will still need to be paid. Then, of course, there are staff salaries as well. So please send in your regular offerings.
Peace,
Alan J. Watt
